Our Exchange Trip

MONDAY

RACHEL :  "On monday I got to school at 8:30 am. I was both nervous and excited because I had never seen Guillaume before. I did not know if he would be nice and friendly or horrible (thankfully he was very nice). I was sad saying goodbye to my mum and this feeling lasted on the ferry when I had a few tears because I was listening to a sad song on the tap. By the time we got off the ferry and met Madame Baisnée I was tired and hungry. We met the family when we got to Thury and Guillaume was really nice and smiley."

TUESDAY

KAYLEIGH :  "We came to school at about 8.35 am. We went into their classroom, Mr Greenaway told Madame Baisnée that we will go down to Thury-Harcourt's market to buy presents. We didn't buy any presents because it's all food. Then we had lunch, Lucie, Tiffany and me had to go home for dinner. We had ham, which was really salty, crisps, a baguette, chocolate yoghurt, and a sponge with runny chocolate in the middle. Liane had watermelon for starters, a waffle, and meat. For dessert they had yoghurt and a chocolate biscuit.
After lunch in the afternoon, we did a photographic quiz. After school we went home and had a snack. Then we went to SUPER U for the picnic on Thursday and Friday."

WEDNESDAY

LAURA & KIM :  "We were going to go swimming but the boys were such babies because they wouldn't wear trunks so we couldn't go in to the pool. Me, Kim and Rebecca were really annoyed with the boys because we really wanted to go swimming. The families decided to take us to a model village. We thought it would be quite boring but it was actually quite good. A small train came of the track and everybody made a big fuss about nothing especially Casey and Rebecca. Then we went on these pedalows and the French kept splashing us. We were soaking. Casey went in a rowing boat with the mum Patricia. Then we went back to school for a B.B.Q."

THURSDAY

LUCY :  "Kayaking was cool and I was scared when we had to run across the front of the boat and back of the boats. Even though we only had an hour it was still fun to go kayaking in France. Some of us went in canoes which was funky, but it was really hard to steer and we went into every bush and tree we saw."

FRIDAY

ALICE :  "I am really happy today even though one of the family's pigeons got killed during the night. I said goodbye to the family at the school. Then we went to Caen market with the French children. I think it was really big. I saw a kitten, some chickens and rabbits, they were really cute. On the way back I had my face painted again. I felt sick and tired though when we got to Exeter I felt happy and alive and not even tired. I was really glad to see my family even though I had  a lovely time in France."
